Pulmonologie

Our goal is to investigate the impact of a structured and medically supervised exercise therapy program on the prognosis, particularly on the response to immunotherapy, in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. In addition to the clinical focus (disease progression under exercise therapy compared to a control group), the basic science part of the project focuses on the metabolism of immune cells, with characterization using FACS, Seahorse analysis, and mass spectrometry with a focus on lipidomics. Our hypothesis is that the training sessions have a positive effect on the metabolism of immune cells, thereby improving the anti-tumor immune response.
